Statement RE: Johnson v. Grants Pass
(Washington, DC) - Sister Nancy Downing, CEO of St. Ann's Center, shared the following statement regarding Johnson v. Grants Pass, the homelessness-centered case being heard today by the Supreme Court of the United States.
“Criminalizing homelessness is not the solution; that only further dehumanizes the person who is experiencing an already-dehumanizing situation. Let’s prioritize human dignity, and advocate for compassionate solutions (like housing and support services) which help people live in safety, health, and peace.”
- Sister Nancy Downing, CEO of St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth and Familie
